At University School, you can take robotics starting in elementary all the way through your senior year. In the Lower and Middle school, we use VEX IQ and participate in IQ tournaments. However, USchool middle also introduces students to VEX EDR parts and more advanced programming. Once students reach the Upper School, they must first take Robotics 1. Robotics 1 introduces students to the basics of being on a robotics team, such as: building, designing, programming, driving, and keeping a good design notebook. This class helps soon-to-be team members find their strong suit in robotics so that they can benefit the team. After passing Robotics 1, students can then take Robotics 2, where they are either chosen by an existing team or are put on a new one. This is where students are really put to the test; they must successfully design, build, program, and drive their robots.
